Current Events :-)

Current Events are back after a short hiatus. There will NOT be a current events quiz this coming Friday due to all of the homecoming festivities. The next quiz will be Wednesday 10/28.

Today's events are:

-A man involved in the cleanup work at the Fukushima Daichi Nuclear plant in Japan is the first person to be diagnosed with cancer in relation to the meltdown.

-Canada voted in a new Prime Minister, Liberal party leader Justin Trudeau, which ousts old conservative PM Steven Harper.

-The Svalbard Global Seed Vault, or Doomsday Vault, has been opened in order to extract seeds native to Syria. The seeds will be planted in Lebanon and Morocco.
